Sam is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine and has gained considerable experience in both site evaluation as well as civil design and inspection in his time at Acorn. Sam helps lead the project engineering and management on a variety of projects while coordinating with the various design professionals, clients, utility companies, regulators, and other stakeholders. Coordination and effective communication are two aspects of every project in which significant attention is given. Sam has a passion for watershed restoration, renewable energy, and sustainable development practices that result in housing and economic opportunities.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys exploring Maine’s coast, listening to live music, enjoying his family and friends’ company over food, and attempting to catch striped bass.
