MJ Van Antwerp is a Design Engineer at Acorn, specializing in civil/site and stormwater design. She brings experience navigating local, state, and federal permitting processes and has worked on a diverse range of projects, including drainage improvements for camp roads, residential developments, rail-trail projects and large-scale mixed-use developments. MJ also has experience in transportation engineering and construction inspection. MJ is proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Excel. She enjoys developing practical and sustainable design solutions that balance project goals, site constraints, cost, functionality, and environmental stewardship.
A licensed Engineer Intern (E.I.) in Maine, MJ holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a concentration in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Sustainability Designation from Calvin University. She is an active member of both the Society of Women Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Outside of work, MJ enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, canoeing, sailing, fishing, and rugby.
