Acorn worked together with Hartland’s E.W. Littlefield & Sons Inc. on the redevelopment of a historic hospital of the former Maine State Reformatory for Women, built in 1937, into 40 affordable housing units in Skowhegan. Acorn handled the civil site planning and permitting for the project which, outside of providing housing, include green space, a community room, onsite laundry, ADA accessibility, and access to the Kennebec Valley Community Action Program’s (KVCAP) public transportation.
